More Than 45,000 Votes Determine Viewers' Favorite Houston Businesses
Cambridge, MA - March 13, 2009
Houston's KPRC LOCAL 2 today completed the announcement of the winners of this year's Click2Houston's Best contest, powered by CityVoter. The first annual competition invites thousands of locals to vote for their favorite businesses on the Click2Houston's Best website. The Click2Houston's Best guide is the premier destination for local information, featuring descriptions, photos, maps, and customer reviews on the top local businesses. The Click2Houston's Best provides local businesses with a platform to easily create, manage, and promote their own web content and gives consumers the power to choose the best businesses and post recommendations, photos, and more.
In just over eight weeks, the Click2Houston's Best guide has doubled in size, currently featuring information, photos, and reviews on over 1,450 local businesses. The contest drew more than 45,000 votes in over 95 categories such as Burger, Day Spa, Vintage and Resale, Tapas, Art Gallery, and Live Music Venue. The online list of 2009 winners is posted and they will receive winners' signs in the mail.
"We're very pleased to see the immediate audience response we got by launching Click2Houston guide with CityVoter," said Vance Collins, KPRC LOCAL 2 Digital Sales Manager. "This is a great growth platform for the station. It really allows us to engage viewers and advertisers in new ways and stay ahead of the competition."
"We are thrilled to see so many local businesses receive the recognition they deserve on the Click2Houston's Best," said Josh Walker, CityVoter CEO. "Customers continue to go online before making buying decisions and to research the best local spots. We are proud to work with KPRC LOCAL 2 to create the best online guide to Houston and provide local businesses with a valuable online presence at no charge."
